On August 27, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the review results of projects in the 2025 centralized application period. The project titled *High-Quality Development of Chinese Enterprises Under China-US Trade Frictions: Challenges, Responses, and Green Transformation*, led by Professor Yu Miaojie—Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of our university—was approved as a Key Project of the NSFC, with a direct funding of 1.62 million yuan. Against the backdrop of the gradual transformation of the global political and economic order, some countries led by the United States have introduced a series of industrial policies, trade policies, and environmental regulations based on their own economic interests, such as the "tariff war," the "small yard, high fence" strategy, the *CHIPS and Science Act*, and the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). These measures pose new challenges to the high-quality development of China’s economy and the realization of the new development pattern of "dual circulation" (domestic circulation as the main body and domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other). Against this context, this project takes *"High-Quality Development of Chinese Enterprises Under China-US Trade Frictions: Challenges, Responses, and Green Transformation"* as its research theme. Based on the current endogenous industrial policies, trade policies, and environmental regulations, it comprehensively applies methods such as structural estimation, counterfactual analysis, machine learning, and traditional econometric analysis. The project aims to quantitatively analyze the practical challenges faced by the high-quality development of Chinese enterprises through economic theories and scientific research methods, propose corresponding response measures and solutions to break the deadlock, and provide empirical support and policy guidance for the green transformation and development of Chinese enterprises. This project is a concentrated reflection of our university’s achievements in continuously deepening the reform of scientific research systems and mechanisms, optimizing discipline layout, and strengthening the construction of talent teams during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. It adds a brilliant chapter to the successful conclusion of the "14th Five-Year Plan," lays a solid foundation for our university to accurately align with national strategic needs, gather advantageous scientific research forces, and plan for the scientific and technological innovation development during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period and the high-quality development of "Double First-Class" universities, and opens a new chapter in striving for more major original innovation achievements.
