Abstract: The 20th Central Committee's Third Plenary Session emphasized the need to improve the system that promotes the deep integration of the real economy and the digital economy. This paper explores the realization mechanism and impact of data-reality integration based on the collaborative development of ride-hailing platforms and the new energy vehicle industry. Utilizing a natural experiment from the legal operations of ride-hailing platforms, it was found that the establishment of ride-hailing platforms provided a significant demand shock to the new energy vehicle industry, leading to a substantial increase in the average monthly sales of new energy vehicles in cities, while having no impact on the sales of fuel vehicles. This also significantly reduced traffic-related emissions and brought about a considerable carbon reduction effect. Moreover, constructing a unified national market, actively promoting the development of new infrastructure, and relaxing financial constraints are key to advancing data-reality integration. Therefore, the integrated development of ride-hailing platforms and the new energy vehicle industry can achieve pollution reduction and carbon reduction without restricting industrial development.
